Nocturne Film Society is a members-only cinema club. On select last Sundays throughout the year, members gather at the Murray Theater for exclusive mystery screenings — horror, thriller, suspense, dark fantasy and cult cinema, carefully curated and kept under wraps until showtime.
Each gathering is a chance to connect with fellow film lovers through shared discovery, lively discussion, and a community built around the darker side of cinema. Members help shape what comes next through film suggestions, feedback and ongoing participation.

Why mystery
The best films are the ones you'd never have picked.
Streaming gives you endless choice, and endless choice is how great films go unwatched. Removing the choice is the whole point.
The mystery format encourages discovery, sparks conversation, and brings a room together through shared anticipation. Every screening becomes an event, and every reveal is part of the fun.
Not every film will be your favorite. Every one is chosen with this community in mind — the goal isn't just to watch movies, it's to explore great cinema together.

Can I share my membership with friends or family?
Memberships may be purchased for yourself or given as a gift. Each card is valid for one admission scan per event date — whether the evening is a single screening or a double feature, one scan admits one member. Every attendee needs their own card, and a card cannot be used by more than one person on the same date.
Are concessions available?
Yes. The theater concession stand is open during screenings, and members get special pricing: two large drinks and a large popcorn for $4.50 (Coke products).
Do memberships renew automatically?
No. Memberships never renew automatically. Once all of your screenings have been redeemed, you may purchase a new membership and continue with the Society.
Can members suggest films?
Absolutely. Nocturne is built around a community of passionate movie lovers. Members are encouraged to submit recommendations, share feedback, and help influence future programming.
What kinds of films does Nocturne screen?
Programming focuses on horror, thriller, suspense, dark fantasy and cult cinema. Selections range from beloved classics and overlooked gems to influential films that shaped the genre landscape.
Why are two showtimes listed for the same date?
On select evenings Nocturne presents a double feature. When that happens both films are included with a single membership scan, at no additional cost.
Attend both screenings, join us for only the first feature, or arrive later for the second. However many films you watch, only one scan is redeemed per event date.
What if I don't like the movie?
Embracing the unknown is part of the experience. Not every film will be everyone's favorite, but every selection is curated with this community in mind. The goal isn't just to watch movies — it's to explore great cinema together and encounter films you might never have chosen yourself.
